ACTIVITIES
ACTIVITY 1
Conducting a survey on the real problems of rabbit farms, health programs, the use of antibiotics and the health priorities of the sector (including management, nutrition and other husbandry practices).
The questionnaires will be designed to obtain detailed information on the management, nutrition and health status of rabbit farms in the national territory. The results of the survey will allow us to know in detail the main pathologies suffered by rabbit farms (incidence, use and dosage of the medicines used).
ACTIVITY 2
Evaluation of the effect of certain nutritional strategies (different fractions of soluble and insoluble fibers / crude protein reduction) on digestive pathology, zootechnical results and use of antibiotics in rabbit fattening.
It consists of an update of the information on formulation of diets in rabbits, evaluation of raw materials and their practical application in commercial feed. On the other hand, 2 tests are carried out with different levels and types of dietary fiber (soluble and insoluble), 2 tests are carried out with different levels and types of protein and digestible amino acids and 2 tests are carried out where the best results achieved with fiber and protein will be combined.
ACTIVITY 3
Identification of the algae/by-product/extract with the greatest effect on intestinal health in the rabbit after weaning.
It consists of updating the information available on the use of algae in rabbits and other domestic species (especially piglets) and in carrying out an inventory of the species available on the Galician coast that may be of interest in animal nutrition (discards in factory, invasive algae and/or affect other crops, etc., and in the selection of a maximum of 10 algae/by-products/extracts among those that provide soluble fiber and/or bioactive substances of interest to promote intestinal health.
ACTIVITY 4
Evaluation of the combination of the best nutritional strategy and algae/extract on intestinal health in rabbits after weaning, on digestive pathology, zootechnical results and use of antibiotics in rabbit fattening.
In this phase, 2 tests are carried out combining the best formulation, without antibiotics, and the selected algae products.
ACTIVITY 5
Dissemination and transfer of results.
The dissemination plan will be divided into three blocks of activity and based on three campaigns.
ACTIVITY 5.1.
Initial communication and dissemination campaign.
It consists of the planning and development of content and communication strategy. The foundations of the visual identity are laid, the key recipients and the means to reach the target audience are identified. Launch and presentation of the project. First contact with the target audience.
ACTIVITY 5.2.
Intermediate communication and dissemination campaign.
It consists of the design, preparation and dissemination of the materials and the carrying out of activities for the communication of the evolution of the project and the transfer of the preliminary results, to the general public and to the target sectors in particular.
ACTIVITY 5.3.
Final communication and dissemination campaign.
It consists of carrying out different activities of engagement and dissemination of materials for the transfer of final results to the sector and target audience.
